Karone's appearance on Lost Galaxy was by far not her debut on Power Rangers. The year before the
young villianess tormented the Astro Rangers for months, nearly defeating them many times over.
Karone is from the space colony KO-35 originally, and the younger sister of Red Astro Ranger
Andros, they're about 2 years apart. Karone was kidnapped when she was only a few years old by Darkonda, and left at the doorstep
of the evil, but noble Ecliptor. He raised her from then on, and she became Astronema, Princess of Evil.
Karone was only sixteen when she battled the space rangers, but she never had much of a childhood,
living on the Dark Fortress. Ecliptor told her the Power Rangers killed her parents and her brother, and that fueled her anger
towards them, making their destruction her only desire.
Andros discovers that she is his sister, but it takes a lot to convince her. And when she
finally believes him and goes to their side, she is taken and brainwashed by the evil forces again.
When she temporarily joined the rangers, Karone appeared to be a sweet, rather shy girl, While
still Astronema she takes on a normal civilian form and meets Silver Ranger Zhane. They have an instant attraction and a little
romance blossoms. But nothing comes of it.
When the Alliance of Evil launches their full-scale assault on the universe, Dark Specter
is killed, leaving Asronema in full command. She basically wins, but in a fight with Andros she is killed by a deflected shot
from her own staff. Andros goes on to destroy Zordon, which destroys all evil in the galaxy, and Karone is brought to life
when Andros cries over her body. She at first is going to stay on KO-35 with Zhane and Andros in the end, but they all decide
to go with the other four to earth.
After that, we don't see any of her for a while. Then in a later episode of Lost Galaxy, Astronema is at an auction on
Onyx, and takes the Pink Quasar Saber. She almost gets away with it, but Trakeena reveals her as the reformed Karone and the
rest of the saloon occupants go after her. karone narrowly escapes and heads off to warn the rangers of a planned trap, and
return the quasar saber.
However, during a fight with Trakeena Kendrix appears to Karone and tells her she must carry on for her, and gives her
the morphers. Karone becomes the Pink Ranger.
The others accept her readily and she becomes fast friends with Maya, but Karone didn't feel like she could live up to
Kendrix's legacy after all she had done as Astronema. It took a dangerous mission and a confrontation with her former self
to make her believe she was really worthy.
Karone varied in many of the episodes from being rather shy and very insecure, to an almost Astronema-like attitude. She
bonded with all the rangers and shared special times with each, and was a great friend. She was always willing to stand up
for them and try to make things better.
Karone replaced her quasar saber at the end of the series, and told Kendrix she wouldn't have missed it for the world.
She doesn't return as the pink ranger again.

Melody Lynn Perkins
Melody Lynn Perkins was born on January 28th, 1974, in Weisbaden, Germany. She was raised in Sacremento
California. She is 5'7, with blond hair and green eyes. She was an accomplished model before her acting career, and danced
with the Sacremento Ballet Company and the Jazz Unlimited Dance Company.
When Melody was asked to describe herself she said, "Well, I'd have to say funny, crazy, smart, wacko, well
normally just down to earth."
